While most people might have be introduced to the idea of hot robots when watching Björk’s video for All Is Full Of Love, I’d like to imagine that robot fetishism has been around at least since the 1920s. In Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, silent film star Brigette Helm made the character of Maria and her evil machine twin forever part of science fiction history and erotica.
From Beyonce to Gaga to the front pages of Vogue, the “machine (wo)man” of Metropolis has seeped into the deepest fantasies of the human mind and emerged reinvented to seduce the modern world.

What is it about the robot that is so alluring? Is it the fact that her actions are based on the desires of her master? Is it because she can be crafted to have as many curves as she can handle? Is she a substitute for love when a person has yet to master the foundations of intimacy and communication?

Who knows? I’m just a couch. You tell me.
I just know that All is Full Of Love is a very hot video.
